NAIROBI (Reuters) - Kenya Commercial Bank said on Thursday its first-half pretax profit rose 4 percent from the same period last year to 3.64 billion shillings.

"We feel that this is a good performance in view of the current global financial crisis which has affected many big businesses across the world," KCB chairman Peter Muthoka told an investor briefing in Nairobi.
