JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa recorded a second consecutive monthly trade surplus in June, with a 3.22 billion rand surplus after a 2.0 billion rand surplus in May, the South African Revenue Service said on Friday. Economists polled by Reuters had predicted a deficit of 1.3 billion rand, although the trade number is generally volatile and difficult to forecast. Compared with the previous month, exports rose by 3.82 percent, mainly due to more exports of precious metals, while imports increased by 0.96 percent. |
